Sales/Marketing Associate
Location: Remote
Hours: 4-6 hours/week

Role Overview:
We're looking for a part-time Sales & Marketing Associate to help us grow our network of partners, collaborators, and revenue-generating opportunities. This role blends strategic outreach with storytelling to raise visibility, generate leads, and build sustainable support for our open-source mission.
This is a unique opportunity to shape how cutting-edge civic tech reaches the world-through partnerships, sponsorships, and powerful digital communication.
Responsibilities:
Identify and engage potential sponsors, donors, and strategic partners aligned with our mission.
Develop and execute outreach strategies for fundraising campaigns, partnerships, and events.
Build and manage a small lead pipeline; coordinate follow-ups and calls as needed.
Craft persuasive outreach messages, pitch decks, and light marketing materials.
Collaborate on content for website, social media, and email campaigns that drive action.
Support grant outreach efforts and help identify relevant funding opportunities.
You’d be a good fit if you:
Are passionate about tech-for-good, public health, or open-source communities.
Have basic experience in outreach, sales, or marketing (internships count!).
Are organized, proactive, and comfortable managing light workloads independently.
Are familiar with tools like Notion, Squarespace, Canva, or social platforms.
Is confident in reaching out to new contacts and organizations.
Understands (or is curious about) open-source, civic tech, and impact-based funding models.
Has a basic understanding of sales pipelines or nonprofit fundraising.
Is organized, self-driven, and able to prioritize high-impact tasks in a limited weekly schedule.
Bonus: experience with grant writing, CRM tools (like HubSpot), or startup fundraising.

Development Associate (Fundraising)

Role Overview:
We’re looking for a Fundraiser to identify funding opportunities, craft compelling grant proposals, and build relationships with philanthropic organizations and aligned donors. You’ll play a crucial role in growing the foundation’s capacity to support research, product development, and global collaborations in the public interest.This part-time role is perfect for someone who believes in open knowledge, emerging tech for social impact, and the power of strategic storytelling to drive change.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and track relevant grants, foundations, and donor opportunities (public and private)
Draft and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents
Collaborate with the team to gather data, stories, and outcomes for funding applications
Manage submission calendars and reporting timelines
Help shape core fundraising language and materials (one-pagers, decks, mission statements)
Build and maintain a lightweight database of grant opportunities and contacts
Occasionally assist with donor communications and small fundraising campaigns
You’d be a good fit if you:
Have strong writing and research skills, with attention to tone and detail
Understand (or are excited to learn about) open-source and AI-for-good ecosystems
Have experience writing grants or fundraising materials (even as a volunteer or intern)
Are self-directed, organized, and enjoy synthesizing big ideas into clear language
Bonus: experience with nonprofit fundraising strategies, storytelling for social impact, or science/tech communication
