Sales/Marketing Associate

Location: Remote (USA)
Hours: 4-6 hours/week
Compensation: $20-22/hr, DOE

Role Overview:

We're looking for a part-time Sales & Marketing Associate to help us grow our network of partners, collaborators, and revenue-generating opportunities. This role blends strategic outreach with storytelling to raise visibility, generate leads, and build sustainable support for our open-source mission.

This is a unique opportunity to shape how cutting-edge civic tech reaches the world-through partnerships, sponsorships, and powerful digital communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage potential sponsors, donors, and strategic partners aligned with our mission.

  • Develop and execute outreach strategies for fundraising campaigns, partnerships, and events.

  • Build and manage a small lead pipeline; coordinate follow-ups and calls as needed.

  • Craft persuasive outreach messages, pitch decks, and light marketing materials.

  • Collaborate on content for website, social media, and email campaigns that drive action.

  • Support grant outreach efforts and help identify relevant funding opportunities.

You’d be a good fit if you:

  • Are passionate about tech-for-good, public health, or open-source communities.

  • Have basic experience in outreach, sales, or marketing (internships count!).

  • Are organized, proactive, and comfortable managing light workloads independently.

  • Are familiar with tools like Notion, Squarespace, Canva, or social platforms.

  • Is confident in reaching out to new contacts and organizations.

  • Understands (or is curious about) open-source, civic tech, and impact-based funding models.

  • Has a basic understanding of sales pipelines or nonprofit fundraising.

  • Is organized, self-driven, and able to prioritize high-impact tasks in a limited weekly schedule.

  • Bonus: experience with grant writing, CRM tools (like HubSpot), or startup fundraising.
