Advancing research for resilient systems
Our research explores how interconnected systems behave, where breakdowns occur, and how evidence-based insight can help communities and institutions make better decisions, build resilience, and advance equity.
The Public Innovation Institute
The Public Innovation Institute is a nonprofit research and innovation organization focused on how bold ideas, emerging technologies, and collaborative leadership can improve lives and strengthen the public good. They work at the intersection of technology, public policy, and community needs, guiding research that spans ethical AI, civic infrastructure, climate resilience, education, and inclusive urban futures. Originally rooted in an MIT-based research initiative, PII supports visionary research projects, academic programs, and partnerships that bridge evidence with action and translate complex systems thinking into practical, equitable solutions. PathCheck partners with the Public Innovation Institute to strengthen our research efforts and advance shared work at the intersection of ethical technology, public systems, and societal resilience.
